High Resolution Audio Codec
Since Apple removed the 3.5mm headphone jack from iPhone7 in 2016, Bluetooth headphone has become even more prevalent. Not all Bluetooth headphones are made equal. A high-resolution audio codec for wireless transmission is one of the key parts achieving real high-resolution headphone quality. GH Innovation has designed a set of proprietary codec algorithms for different applications.
Features of Low Delay Codecs
- High resolution stereo audio
- Sampling rate: 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88.2kHz, or 96kHz
- Bit depth: 32bits, 24bits or 16bits per sample
- Codec algorithm delay as low as 2 ms
- Dynamically adjustable bit rate
- Transparent quality at a bit rate around 400kbps for all high resolution stereo audio including music and voice
Features of Normal Delay Codecs
- High resolution stereo audio
- Sampling rate: 44.1kHz, 48kHz
- Bit depth: 32bits, 24bits or 16bits per sample
- Codec algorithm delay as low as 27 ms
- Dynamically adjustable bit rate
- Transparent quality at a bit rate around 128kbps for all high resolution stereo audio including music and voice
Applications
- Bluetooth headphones
- Game streaming
- Music streaming
- Video streaming with audio and video synchronization requirement
